Pitches wanted (law enforcement) | ~50 to 80 cents per word

COMPANY/PUBLICATION: COPWATCH MEDIA

We're a grassroots journalism project and we are looking to publish opinion pieces, reported stories and feature writing related to law enforcement (i.e. policing, prosecutions, incarceration, surveillance, immigration enforcement, etc.). We are especially interested in pitches from directly-impacted people, those who are writing about their own neighborhoods/hometowns, and Black and non-white writers.

Our rate for guest writers is $500 for 800-1000 word stories and $250 for 300-400 word, news stories. Guest writers must be able to work with our in-house editor through the editing process in a timely manner. Writers must also provide at least one visual, like an original photo, to be published with the article. Payment is processed once the article is live on our website.
