The world we know and live in today has been shaped by events that drastically affected the civilizations of the past and continue to shape the societies we know today. Traditions and interactions between world societies influence how we perceive social and political landscapes and help us better understand how we fit into our own groups.

At Complexly, we make videos that help our audiences develop a nuanced and complex view of the world around us. In partnership with Arizona State University, Crash Course and YouTube, we're creating a 30-episode introduction to World History course to examine the connections and interactions of different peoples and cultures from a global perspective.

As our freelance writer, you will be responsible for researching and writing scripts on pre-selected World History topics, working closely with other team members and subject-matter experts to develop comprehensive, consistent, and engaging scripts. Our partners at ASU and our script editor will give you feedback to refine your work until it's ready for production. Come prepared to collaborate with others effectively and respectfully. History is interconnected and constantly reflected in the interdependent world we live in. Through this course, students will gain knowledge about events, institutions and people on a global scale and develop an empathetic understanding of the shared human experience.
