We have extended our call for pitches for Issue 24 for Upping The Anti. Send us your revolutionary rants. After an in-depth and soul crushing editing process, you will see your work published!

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR ISSUE 24:

Iran is on fire, the US Supreme Court has overturned Roe, and the ongoing violence against Indigenous women land defenders continues apace as the world careens toward climate catastrophe. In the wake of these renewed assaults on women, queer, and trans folks across the globe we at Upping the Anti (UTA) are calling for submission to our next issue. Since our first issue was released in 2005, our journal has provided space for activists, scholars and organizers to reflect on struggles against capitalism, imperialism and oppression broadly defined, with a goal to push movement debates on strategy and tactics forward toward our collective liberation. To this end, we’re encouraging established and up-and-coming organizers and writers to submit a pitch to our editorial collective.

We publish letters, essays, memorials, interviews (of 1-2 participants), roundtables (of 3 or more participants), comics, and reviews of film or books relevant to leftist organizing. We work closely with our authors to develop their writing and encourage folks to submit pieces in development. We will review your pitch and provide you with feedback. After a pitch has been approved, writers are expected to submit their piece by deadline.
