Added 2022-11-09 20:37:15 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: VOICES OF DISABILITY ECONOMIC JUSTICE PROJECT
We're so excited to launch the Voices of Disability Economic Justice Project, a series from The Century Foundation and Disability Economic Justice Collaborative centering the voices of disabled people on critical economic issues, and laying bare the ways in which the U.S. leaves disabled folks behind: https://tcf.org/content/about-tcf/tcf-launches-new-series-featuring-and-led-by-disabled-writers/
The series is edited under the leadership of Emily Ladau, a long time disability rights activist, writer, editor, and author.
It launches with 3 original pieces by Dr. Nicole Froio, Kim Kelly, and Steve Grammer, powerful writers who tell stories of economic injustice in their own words.
“As our collaborative members work together to bring disability into the economic debate, people with disabilities who have experienced our broken systems firsthand are uniquely positioned to articulate what better public policy would mean for their lives.” - RebeccaVallas.
Want to get involved? We’re looking for op-ed style pieces and personal narratives that shine light on the economic disparities that disabled people experience—particularly disabled POC and LGBTQIA+ disabled people.
Payment for published pieces is $500: https://tcf.org/disability-economic-justice-collaborative/voices-of-disability-economic-justice/
