Maia Hibbett, Managing Editor at New York Focus, is looking for pitches:

I am now the managing editor at New York Focus. We're a small (but growing) investigative newsroom trained on all things New York (state, city, what have you). Pitch us: maia@nysfocus.com

Our current standard rate is $800 for investigative stories, and we can of course negotiate on a case-by-case basis. Pitches should be timely with respect to the stories they cover but we'll be taking freelance pitches for the foreseeable future.

Length is flexible, since we're online, but should be kept short enough to be readable. We will probably refine the ask for beats in weeks to come, but currently open to anything investigative in NY!
