Embarcadero Media / East Bay division is seeking freelance writers for special projects and ongoing assignments.
These independent contractors will conduct interviews with sources and write high-quality, accurate grammatically correct articles in a journalistic style and meet deadlines.
Requirements:
- News reporting experience, including how to conduct interviews and structure stories.
- Expert-level knowledge of grammar.
- Familiarity with AP style.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Live in Northern California (This is remote work, but we need writers with general knowledge of NorCal geography, issues and the like, and who lives in the same time zone.)
We pay between $75 and $150 per assignment, depending on the type of work, length of story (most will be around 450 words) and difficulty. We will provide sources to interview. Pay is discussed before work begins.
