The Art of Education University is seeking exceptional educators to write for its online magazine, which receives over 800,000 views per month. Writers submit three articles, along with 3-4 original photos each month. Writers must have classroom art experience, strong writing and communication skills, enthusiasm and knowledge of trends and best practices in art education, and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.

THE DETAILS - MAGAZINE WRITER

Responsibilities

Writers submit three articles, along with 3-4 original photos, to be published in The Art of Education University's Online Magazine each month. Writers create one Instagram Story per month to highlight an article they have written. Writers provide timely and clear communication with the writing team and the Media Content Manager via Slack and email each week.

Required

• K-12 Classroom teaching experience.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Open to suggestions and feedback.
• Passion and knowledge about up-to-date trends and best practices in art education.
• Organized and responsible with deadlines.
• Comfortable and proficient with technology.

Work Environment

The duties of this position are typical of those performed in a home office setting. The majority of tasks will be performed while sitting at a desk.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position requires considerable concentration and focus when writing articles.
• Ability to lift a laptop

VISUAL AND TACTILE REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to view computer screens for periods of time. Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.
• Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, and the like.

COMPENSATION

Writers earn a base stipend of $350 each month. Writers also receive additional perks including full access to the PRO Learning and FLEX Curriculum platforms and free entrance to the NOW Conferences, held twice each year.
