Pitches wanted (personal experiences with mental health) | $200 per article
Added 2023-01-27 15:52:36 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: SEATTLE TIMES MENTAL HEALTH PROJECT
Michelle Baruchman, Engagement Editor of The Seattle Times' Mental Health Project, is looking for pitches:
Accepting pitches: If you live with or have a personal experience with mental illness or behavioral health needs, I’m accepting pitches for our Mental Health Perspectives series. Get in touch with me: mbaruchman@seattletimes.com
Note: This column is primarily aimed toward giving people who don’t otherwise have a platform an opportunity to share their experiences with mental health. We’re prioritizing local writers so please include your connection to Seattle or Washington state in your pitch.
Again, while we accept pitches from professional writers, we are primarily aiming the column at people who don't otherwise have a platform to share their mental health experience. We're really looking for people from the community. We don't pay on a word count basis and have different policies depending on whether someone stands to benefit commercially. We are also prioritizing people who live in Washington state and want to keep the column locally focused.
CONFIDENTIAL NOTE: Reports indicate that this opportunity will pay $200 per article. It is recommended that you discuss the rate(s) with the editor upon the acceptance of your pitch.
