We’re a small but mighty team that focuses on listening to client problems and designing personalized solutions, leaning on the varied talents of our team members.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Teamstream Productions is looking to retail a writer for a print and digital publishing client. This position is part of a contract that runs from the last week of February through the first week of June, 2023. There is strong potential for an extension based on success, but currently, this position is only guaranteed to run from February 21st, 2023 to June 2nd, 2023.
We are currently hiring two writers in this role, who will work together to draft thirteen individual 96-page Special Interest Publications (SIP) over the course of the engagement, at the pace of about one per week. A senior editor will assign each writer half of each week’s SIP; the two writers will each source, research, and write about 25-35 articles and sidebars of varying lengths, usually around 150-700 words each (articles) and 50-150 words (sidebars), varying based on the content of the SIP. There shouldn’t be more than an average of 40 hours worth of work in a given week but total hours may vary up or down from week to week. To get a feel for the range of topics covered in this project, past SIP topics have included: The Ultimate Beer-Lover’s Guide, The Anti-Inflammatory Diet, Warriors of the Ancient World, Are We Alone? (extraterrestrial life), and College Admissions: The Ultimate Guide for Parents and Students.

- 3 to 5 years of previous professional writing experience, preferably working in short-form articles about a variety of topics (web or print).
- Strong skills in organization and time management, research (including identifying reliable internet sources), and collaborative software environments including Slack and G-Suite.
- Strong nonfiction/journalistic writing, including an ability to adapt a tone to particular audiences and to cite sources responsibly (plagiarism is not tolerated).
- The capability to work quickly yet efficiently, on familiar and unfamiliar topics, and to submit work on time that is high quality and largely error-free, in a fresh and unique voice.
