The Legal Defense Fund (LDF) seeks freelance writer(s) to draft a minimum of two articles per month for LDF's Original Content (OC) hub. The freelancer is expected to pitch article topics related to LDF's core racial justice and equality issue areas. Article assignments will either be selected from pitches or provided by the Director of Original Content, depending on publication priorities. Articles generally range anywhere from 800-1500 words, depending on format. Some original reporting/interviewing is often required. Articles are generally expected to be completed within a two-week period from pitching to publication (with editing included in this time frame). For a sense of the types of articles we publish, please see our OC hub: https://www.naacpldf.org/our-thinking/ldf-blog/ Pay rate ranges from around $250-$500, depending on article length. To start, the freelance contract will be offered for three months and considered for renewal.
