ROLE SUMMARY
As part of the US Marketing Team, this role is responsible for developing thought leadership in support of 2023 strategic objectives. To be successful in this role you should be a compelling writer, possess outstanding written communications skills in English, and hopefully have a basic understanding of financial services.
You must be able to take complex subject matter and translate it into a relatable and engaging message. Moving and thinking rapidly with attention to detail and a sharp eye for quality is crucial, along with the ability to grasp and communicate complex financial concepts in layman’s terms.
This role requires collaboration and coordination across multiple parts of the business as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize appropriately. This means you will flex between partnering with EQ+ AST subject matter experts on thought leadership, to brainstorming compelling industry content pieces to writing social posts in support of marketing campaigns. CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Work with the VP, Portfolio Marketing to develop content for a wide range of print and online marketing pieces including: brochures, websites, emails, video storylines, advertising and Digi deck slides.
- Plan, develop, organize, write and edit product user guides as needed.
- Create thought leadership pieces from multiple resources, include but not limited to, information provided by the business, online research, industry data sources.
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts to ensure that product user guides accurately reflect new processes resulting from the system or module implementations.
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts to ensure that industry content is accurately reflected.
- Provide a quality check on all final marketing content.
- Maintain and update thought leadership content library.
- Ensure all thought leadership is vetted by SMEs and EQ + AST’s Legal Group.
SKILLS, CAPABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:
- Proven experience working in a content writing position, preferably for a financial services firm.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Ability to quickly absorb complex information and translate it into concise concepts that can be communicated effectively.
- Ability to understand, digest and articulate complex financial concepts. Ability to develop prose from bullet point inputs and conversations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
- Able to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
- Exceptionally detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and consistency
- Willing and able to work extended hours as needed.
- Must be self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working with a diverse team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communication, Content Writing, Journalism, Business, or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3 to 5+ years of content writing experience including thought leadership, white papers, RFP writer or copy writer
- Excellent B2B writing skills
Compensation: $85-95 per hour
