Emma Gibbs, Editor in Chief of JRNY, is looking for pitches:

PITCH CALL: We’re looking for pitches for any of the following destinations for Issue Five of JRNY: Brazil (not wildlife), Oman, UAE, Kuwait or Saudi Arabia. Writers should either have been within last 6 months or live there.

DETAILS:

• Article deadline: ideally mid April
• Length: 1,800-2,000 words
• Fee: £300

Please send pitches of maximum 250 words to Emma at submissions@jrnymag.com with “Pitch” and destination in subject line by Friday 31 March. Please also provide details/links to your previous work.

What we’re looking for: stories about lesser-known places or new takes on more familiar ones. No round ups or listicles, please. And please only pitch for these destinations.

And finally, while I do read every single email, I can’t reply to every pitch. JRNY is just one of my freelance jobs. For context, I still have 90+ pitches to read from my last pitch call, 3 books to edit, my own pitches to send, and a book to write… all within school hours.
