Deadline: 14 March
The Parliament (formerly The Parliament Magazine) is seeking pitches for our upcoming URBAN PLANNING & DESIGN (May 2023) edition.
When the pandemic swept through Europe, those of us living in cities felt the realities of our urban environment in all sorts of new ways, some more welcome than others. In addition to exposing and exacerbating the inequalities of our cities, lockdown led many to rethink and reflect on urban lifestyles. As life returns to semi-normal, what did we learn about urban planning and urban design over the course of this crisis? From residential buildings to public spaces and everywhere in between, how are urban areas transforming to accommodate the future (perhaps a warmer and more crowded one)? What challenges and opportunities are on the horizon for Europe’s city dwellers?
We’re looking for reported feature pitches exploring the ways in which urban planning and urban design shape Europe’s cities and communities. We’re also interested in pitches for profiles and interviews with major players in European urban planning and urban design. Pitches from anywhere in the bloc are welcome.
