Are you a writer brainstorming a piece about the current natural environment, the current education system, or anything else Black people are concerned about? Send our Managing Editor a pitch! We're seeking pitches for pieces that analyze and/or amplify the concerns and values of Black women, femmes, and folks from the Southeast. We're especially seeking writers who identify as Black, LGBTQ, disabled, women, or POC. We pay $0.25 to $1.00 per word, depending on writer experience. https://bit.ly/3FkxpQj

• Learn more about the publication: The Lighthouse's blog, Black Girl Times, offers Black creatives a platform to discuss their experiences and those of southern Black girls, women (in particular but not exclusively) and gender non-conforming people on The Lighthouse’s website. Through this project, creatives use writing, photography and other mediums to underscore the organization’s mission, further elevating those voices on matters ranging from reproductive justice to music, economic justice to pop culture.
