Pitches wanted (business, economy) (worldwide) | 67 cents to $1 per word
Added 2023-04-21 15:26:22 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: THE HUSTLE
Mark Dent, Writer/Editor at The Hustle, is looking for pitches:
We are looking for writers from around the world to report feature stories about business and the economy. Our features usually run 1,500-2,000 words and can be about anything from current events ("The sneaky economics of Ticketmaster") to uncovering forgotten people and events from the past related to the economy and business ("The Manhattan High Rise That Shrunk Itself Down"). You can see our full list of stories here: https://thehustle.co/stories/.
The key is coming up with an interesting, big-picture angle that deviates from typical day-to-day business news. Think of us as a mix of Vox, Atlas Obscura, and Bloomberg Business Week.
We're open to pitches and potentially to bringing on writers as contributors if they've successfully reported stories for us. We typically pay at least $0.67 per word and up to $1 per word, depending on the amount of reporting involved. We prefer experienced writers but will work with new writers if they have a great pitch.
