Added 2023-04-26 16:00:14 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: DECELERATION
In search of experienced freelance climate journalists/reporters and future community advisors for our growing bioregional journal of environmental justice news, thought, and action.
Deceleration.News invites proposals for investigative and explanatory reporting, analysis, essay video projects, and more. We are rooted in San Antonio and South Texas and interested in writing from across the greater bioregion on environmental justice themes, including relationships with land, air, water, people and other beings, anti-extraction and regeneration efforts, and profiles of those creating better futures for the Earth and all Her families.
Rolling deadline. But very much looking for writers with some experience and commitment to climate justice. Prioritizing knowledge of our greater bioregion (South Texas/Gulf/borderlands), but open to stories from elsewhere that intersect with our mission.
Pay is negotiable, but generally ranges from $250 for shorter explanatory stories, videos, or photo essays, to $0.50/word for longer-form investigative and time-intensive features.
