Content Editor wanted for digital media company | 22+ cents per word

OneCare Media is a high-growth, Seattle-based digital media company that is building the next generation of health media. Our digital brands provide best-in-class services that bridge the gap between information and action across a variety of industries, including sleep, telehealth, and at-home testing.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Content Editor to join our contractor team at OneCare Media!

In this remote, part-time, contract editing position, you will fact-check and edit written content focused on commercial sleep products and trends.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of professional editing experience, is proficient in developing engaging/informative content, and has a keen editorial eye for what makes excellent, trustworthy content, helping us set and maintain editorial quality and standards. While experience in writing or editing about sleep products is not required, those who do have experience will be prioritized.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Adhering to detailed internal style guides
• Editing short and long form editorial, product rankings, and site copy
• Conducting in-depth fact-checking
• Providing feedback to various writers
• Staying up to date on internal style guides and expectations
• Meeting given deadlines
• Growing into experts in the sleep industry

This contract role will edit an average of 1-2 articles per week (~1,500-~3,000 words) to start and is paid at $0.22 per word.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communication, or a related field
• Minimum two years of professional editing experience
• Experience with Google Docs
• Experience with Google Sheets
• Experience writing/editing for an online audience
