We are thrilled to open a call for pitches for our 10th issue: PLANTS, to be released in Autumn 2023. Pay: £150 for 1,000 word essays if your pitch is selected.
We're looking for ideas for unique essays, interviews, short stories and features on the theme of plants and ecosystems.
- Histories of plants and ecosystems and their relationship (or lack of relationship) with people
- New perspectives on what 'natural' means
- Reviews/interviews linked to relevant art, writing and music
- Stories of people and places working
- Anything else!
Please note: we'll only accept pitches about 'Indigenous Knowledge' where the writer is part of, or very closely connected to, a community or group of people.
PITCHING DETAILS:
- Email a couple of paragraphs about your idea and with details of any previous writing experience to editor@itsfreezinginla.com
- Please include the subject line 'ISSUE 10 PITCHES'.
You can be based anywhere in the world, and we can work with translators for those who don't have English as a first language. We will pay £150 for 1,000 word essays if your pitch is selected. You will hear from us by the end of June if successful.
