Pitches wanted (drink features, origins, traditions) | $700 for features
Added 2023-06-07 18:56:07 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: GOOD BEER HUNTING
Emma Janzen, Drinkways Editor for North America at Good Beer Hunting, is looking for pitches:
I’m officially on board as the new Drinkways Editor for North America at Good Beer Hunting, and now taking pitches for stories! I’m looking for drink features that go beyond beer—ones that explore origins, craft, traditions and geography, rooted in people, places, and culture.
For Drinkways, please do not pitch fleeting trends, gimmicks, or hype; I’m on the hunt for thoughtful explorations that go deeper than mainstream discourse. Think: culture stories that center humanity, especially in “flyover” states where unique stories are generally overlooked.
Before you pitch: please familiarize yourself with the sorts of stories we publish. Especially the non-beer ones, like this rad exploration of Louisiana rum by Gabrielle Nicole Pharms (https://goodbeerhunting.com/blog/2021/1/12/laissez-les-bons-temps-rouler-how-new-orleans-is-forging-the-next-chapter-for-american-rum) and David Neimanis’s great piece on Brooklyn amaro (https://goodbeerhunting.com/blog/2021/8/19/the-architecture-of-brooklyn-amaro-what-it-means-to-make-amari-in-the-new-world).
