Remote Communications Writer wanted | $55 to $65 per hour

Prowess Consulting is looking for a communications writer skilled in employee engagement communications and stories. This role is a 20 to 25 hours per week role. The ideal candidate has journalism experience with a pulse on Silicon Valley news. This role can be worked remotely from anywhere in the United States however, the work hours will be in the Pacific time zone.

You will love enthusiasm for Microsoft in the bay area internally and externally by identifying and creating compelling stories to share. You possess the ability to seek story ideas around you and collaborate with broad groups of people to achieve the right outcome. You have stellar writing and communications experience. Your work will be make Microsoft employees feel proud of the direct impact their work is doing in the bay area. The position deals with storytelling and content creation across a range of topics including employee spotlights, key initiatives and event coverage.

To be considered for this role you must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington state.

THE ROLE

• Assessing story leads and pitching story ideas for editorial calendar building
• Interviewing various subjects and sources
• Writing and publishing a minimum of 1 in-depth article per month
• Assist with crisis communications, employee event invites or posts on an as needed basis
• Supporting the fluid needs of a fast-paced corporate comms office

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2 years of journalism and editorial calendar planning experience
• Meeting regular deadlines
• History of producing in-depth articles
• Adaptable to different styles of writing based on various communication types
• Knowledge of Silicon Valley news and trends
• Excel and PowerPoint experience are required
• Familiarity with SharePoint and Viva Engage is preferred
• Great organization skills are a must
• A proactive, solutions driven self-starter with a growth mindset
• Experience driving projects to successful completion in a professional environment

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

• The offered base pay range for this specific positing is $55 to 65 per hour, DOE
• This is a part-time role that will be worked 20 to 25 hours per week
• Base Pay ranges are different for different work locations within the U.S., which allows for competitive pay and consistency in different states
• U.S. based employees, working 30 hours per week or more have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic life insurance, a 401K plan with matching, well being benefits, education benefits, among others.
• U.S. based full-time employees receive 11 paid holidays, and accrue paid time off
