Rosemary Donahue, Health and Parenting Editor at The Insider, is looking for pitches:
I am looking for freelance pitches from new and experienced writers worldwide for the health and parenting section for Insider. Open to all pitches that would fall under our vertical, but right now, I'm looking for a few things in particular: sex and relationship essays, especially with a new/fresh angle; stories about relationships/dating where people met in an interesting way; travel stories about fun trips or with new, interesting takes; parenting stories that are light and fun; parenting stories about things that make your life easier; stories about polyamory; stories about vitamin deficiencies; and, since there's too much bad news out there, just generally fun stories with a happy ending.
Pay varies slightly depending on scope of piece and whether it's personal essay or reported, but generally a personal essay of about 700 words in length (which is mostly what I'm looking for) will be around $250. Email me at rdonahue@insider.com with samples to similar previous work if you have any (if possible). Please use the format "PITCH: [proposed headline]" for the subject line of your email.
