Seeking researched, reported stories in the 800-1200-word range around archaeology, history, religion, aDNA, and intersection of AI and the sciences from published writers for NatGeo digital. Our readers especially love new discoveries and unusual or unknown histories. Not looking for feature-length stories at this time. Topics should be relevant to a national and/or international audience.

What I’m NOT looking for: travel content, stories on health/wildlife/environment (unless there’s a specific archaeology/history angle), first-person essays, museum/exhibit reviews.

$1/word. Pitch should include why the story is relevant and timely. Send 3-5 samples to Kristin.Romey@natgeo.com and use PITCH: [STORY IDEA] in subject line.
