Troy Farah, Health and Science Editor at Salon, is looking for pitches:
I've stepped up as the health and science editor for Salon. I strongly believe in public access to science, a role journalists can and should fill responsibly. I have an excellent team, we are going to make some amazing reporting together.
We will address the critical issues of our moment (climate, AI, reproductive autonomy, pandemics, drugs, mental health + more) with Salon's signature thoughtfulness and candor. Send ideas and pitches to tfarah@salon.com Thanks for your patience as I get organized.
Rates vary based on experience and the level of reporting, which is about $150-$250. As a former freelancer for 9 years, I'm not exactly happy about this and I'm working to change it. Sorry. Least I can do is be transparent about it.
