Nicholas Russell, Managing Editor at Still Alive Magazine, is looking for pitches:
I’m excited to say I’m joining Still Alive Magazine as managing editor! We’re taking submissions for web-exclusive pieces. Up to 1000 words, $400. Feel free to send us a pitch at: stillalivemag@gmail.com
We’re pretty open right now, but definitely take a look at our first issue to get a sense of the kind of pitches we consider. Not just people but places and ideas. Fewer old white dudes would be our main caveat, but if you can make a compelling case, then we’ll consider it.

- Learn more about the publication: Still Alive is a magazine about people who are, against all odds, still alive. It is a celebration of life and publishes essays, interviews, or something else about the living.
- Read through a selection of recent stories/articles on its website.
- Check out our collection of pitch excerpts on this page and find more sample pitches at The Open Notebook and at SuccessfulPitches.com.
- Do not forget to end your pitch with (1) a short introduction about yourself; (2) a few lines highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits; and (3) links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.
