Tessa McLean, Editor at SF Gate, is looking for pitches:
I’m once again looking for freelancers to contribute great local content about the Bay Area for SFGate. Rates $250+. Please read below!
SFGATE’s audience reaches all of California (and beyond!) and we reach around 1 million people every day. Below are some examples of really great recent stories and the type of stuff we're looking for.
- We love a weird job story. This one was from a freelancer and told the story of the woman documenting SF's coyote population: https://www.sfgate.com/local/article/san-francisco-coyote-lady-documents-17917811.php?IPID=SFGate-HP-CP-Spotlight
- In this deep dive, Alex Shultz tried to find out if the story behind a legendary house in SF was actually true (spoiler: not really): https://www.sfgate.com/local/article/did-jimi-hendrix-live-in-san-francisco-red-house-17848521.php
- Our readers always want to know what's happening with that weird building. This is a great example from Katie Dowd: https://www.sfgate.com/obscuresf/article/nimitz-mansion-hidden-under-bay-bridge-17999245.php
- There's so much to figure out about the Bay Area housing market. Here's one recent look: https://www.sfgate.com/local/article/downtown-sf-condo-market-struggling-17643941.php
