My team at Popular Mechanics is seeking an experienced freelancer to write how-to/service pieces in the home/DIY space. Think: a guide on how much to expect to pay during a home reno, an explainer on how evaporative cooling works, a step-by-step story on how to clean windows. $1/word.

Most stories will be between 600-1,000 words, and turnaround times will vary from a few days to a few weeks. Successful pieces will employ an authoritative voice, a detail-oriented approach, SEO best practices, and some reporting where applicable.
