JOB DESCRIPTION:

Discount Dumpster, an industry leader in the waste management and construction industry, is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable content writer to join our team of freelancers. This position is responsible for creating optimized content monthly, as determined by the Content Team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the English language and composition, as well as experience crafting content for websites. Familiarity with SEO, on-page optimization and ability to adhere to monthly deadlines is preferred. This role will report directly to Discount Dumpster’s Content Specialist.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creating clear, consistent and well-written optimized content in accordance with company editorial policies and style guidelines
• Writing and editing content for various mediums such as landing pages, articles and marketing materials
• Maintaining originality in all written submissions
• Researching industry-related topics
• Ensuring all content is proofread; submitting content that is free of spelling, grammatical and compositional errors
• Submitting content in a timely manner adhering to defined deadlines
• Providing edits as needed to submitted content
• Preparing itemized invoices monthly

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communication or other writing intensive focus preferred
• Preferably 1-2 years of experience in freelance writing
• Familiarity with digital content and optimizing web copy
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to write in different styles and tones
• Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Google Docs

BONUS POINTS:

• Experience in waste management or construction industries
• Familiarity with internal and external linking best practices
• Experience writing case studies and other long-form educational content
