Weekend News Writer wanted (tech) | up to 23 cents per word

PCMag.com is seeking a freelance weekend news writer for 3 to 4 stories per day on Saturdays and Sundays (East Coast US hours). You would find, write, find art for, produce, and publish these stories yourself, so demonstrated experience writing clean and compelling tech-focused news and working in a CMS and news discovery tools is a must.
You must have strong news judgment and can identify the most important stories of the day, as well as find fun, audience-driving topics for slower days. Ideally, you have familiarity with the PCMag brand and what we’re all about.
Rate: $70 per story (Each story would be at least 300 words)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience writing consumer tech news for a digital publication
- Ability to determine trending technology topics and use news-discovery tools
- Ability to write quickly and clearly, as well as the ability to write compelling headlines and decks to draw readers in.
- Effective communicator
- Comfortable with image procurement, producing stories in a CMS
- Based in the US, UK, Canada, or Australia
