Pitches wanted (mental health) | $200 to $800+ per article
Added 2023-07-03 14:40:21 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: MENTAL HELLTH
P.E. Moskowitz, Creator of Mental Hellth, is looking for pitches:
I thought it would be cool to experiment with how people are paid when they write for my newsletter. I'm introducing a pilot revenue sharing program that I think will 1) give writers more money and 2) help figure out what the best model is for freelancing moving forward.
I have found it annoying that journalism and essay writers are paid the same amount whether their work makes a lot of money for the publication or doesn't. I've written things for $5000 that reach like 100 people, and things for $50 that reach 100,000. This feels unfair.
I'm not sure this experiment will work. So we'll see! But I think the media is in shambles, so why not experiment.
MENTAL HELLTH REVENUE SHARE EXPERIMENT
- Base rates: Minimum $200 (Q+As, etc.)
- Short essays: $300-$400
- Long essays/deep reporting: $400-$800
