I oversee Bloomberg Opinion’s culture coverage, and I’m looking for strong, op-eds on music, politics, fashion, media, race and identity, food, social media, tech and marketing.

Think you might have a pitch but not quite sure it’s the right fit? Here are 5 helpful questions to ask yourself:

• Do you have the expertise to write on the topic?
• Does it have a timely news peg?
• Are you clearly stating a problem or challenge?
• Do you have a meaningful recommendation to address #3?
• Do you have a perspective that isn’t already out there?
