Rescue’s health behavior change marketing campaigns focus on topics such as tobacco, obesity, substance and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise, eating healthy foods, early childhood development, and after school programs; and other topics that promote healthy living. Rescue’s behavior change campaigns focus on diverse populations within teen (13 - 17), young adult (18 - 26), and adult (18+) populations in both rural and urban areas, resulting in a wide variety of campaign styles and strategies.

THE JOB
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated UX Content Writer to join our growing Digital team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating powerful and effective copy for web, mobile, and other digital experiences, while following UX writing best practices and brand guidelines. They should possess a thorough knowledge of how to motivate users to take action and have experience crafting empathetic, authentic communication content for audiences ranging from teenagers to veterans. To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess exceptional writing skills, have a solid understanding of user experience, and have a passion for making a difference.
DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES:
- Creates clear and impactful content for web, mobile, and other digital experiences;
- Partners with UX/UI Designers and Developers to build simple, eye-catching, and intuitive experiences;
- Collaborates with Strategy, Research, UX/UI Design, Ideation, Web Development to create content that educates, motivates and empowers users;
- Mentors teammates and coaches them in improving their quality of UX writing;
- Creates, reviews, and revises content to ensure best possible user experience;
- Researches and analyzes user behavior of target audiences to create effective copy;
- Ensures content meets accessibility and usability standards;
- Supports design system and global library by providing content guidelines for components;
- Writes and reviews UX copy in Figma wireframes and Google docs;
- Ensures message tone, voice, and content are on-brand and aligned with objectives;
- Presents complex topics in consumer-friendly, plain language;
- Familiar with content management systems;
- Partners closely with UX Designers, Developers, Creative Leads, QA testers, and Project Managers to continuously improve quality of content;
- Experienced with mobile-first writing and user testing and research;
- Works closely with Product/Project Management, Operations, and Associate Director of Experience Design to define workflow of UX writing and incorporate it into agency process;
- Assesses current state of UX copy within products, identifies areas for improvement and establishes best practices for UX writing;
- Offers content strategy perspective to help improve overall user experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED + 5 years relevant experience;
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of UX writing abilities;
- Understanding of UI concepts in order to create effective and engaging content;
- Working knowledge of Figma;
- Understanding of interactive design and usability principles;
- Ability to create content which contributes to the user experience;
- Develop SEO-friendly, keyword-driven ideas for copy;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail;
- Knowledge of SEO principles and experience incorporating into content strategy;
- A passion for great experience design;
- Familiar with online tracking tools, such as Jira, is a plus;
- Strong editing and proofreading skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Pay Range: $45 per hour. Actual compensation is dependent upon a combination of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, level of education, and location.

Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time and stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the building for the performance of duties. Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Able to travel nationwide as needed to meet with clients, coworkers, or attend meetings and seminars.
