Hannah Walhout, Editor at FoodPrint, is looking for pitches:
We are always accepting pitches for reported pieces and analysis. We cover a wide range of food-related topics with a focus on sustainability: industry trends, food policy, labor issues, animal welfare, pesticides and pollution, packaging and plastics, food sovereignty, environmental justice and more, all focused on the U.S. and topics that impact U.S. consumers. More pitch guidelines at https://foodprint.org/contact-us/
Demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter and/or experience with reporting on complex issues is preferred. We especially welcome the perspectives of those historically underrepresented or marginalized in food media and the food system. No location requirements for writers, but our coverage is focused on the U.S. and issues that directly impact U.S. consumers. Rates: $550 to $700. Email: hannah@foodprint.org with a few of your relevant clips (or other writing), a link to your portfolio, or a brief explanation of your background as it relates to the pitch so we can get to know your work. Please include "pitch" in your subject line.
