Brendan Goethal, Project Manager at McGuffin Creative Group, is looking for writers:

McGuffin is seeking an experienced feature article writer/journalist to research and write content for a magazine that we produce for our client in the health care/medical arena.

We’re looking for a seasoned writer skilled in:

• in-depth interviews
• extensive research
• uncovering the big story and developing the lead/angle that will engage readers and
• support the editorial strategy
• writing long-form content in an engaging, story-telling manner
• writing in a brand voice
• expert in AP Style

Subject matter will range from medical research to clinical/patient care stories to medical leader profiles to innovation/medical advancements across a range of health care areas; cancer, neurosciences, genomics, artificial intelligence, etc. Interviews will include client leadership, physicians, PH. D.s, scientists, researchers; benefactors; patients, other SMEs.

Candidates will have experience developing content for a print lifestyle or medical magazine, newspaper and/or digital content platform and working with a managing editor who oversees the editorial budget and individual stories.

Articles may range from 1,000-3,000 words at a rate of $1.00 - $2.00 per word. Open to negotiation and other compensation methods. Engagement will begin as soon as August 7, 2023.
