We are now accepting pitches for our Fall 2023 print issue on newsstands in October. Are you an artist, writer or dancer living in Canada? Send us your ideas about dance and art in your community.
THEME: Family (in all of its expansive expressions)
- How are family bonds formed or strengthened through dance?
- What is the role of dance in creating chosen families?
- How are artists exploring family stories, issues and themes through dance?
- Are there families with shared dance practices you think should be celebrated?
- How does caregiving or parenting transform dance practices?
- How does pregnancy affect dance practices?
- How is dance passed on, (re)created, or recovered within families?
- How does dance challenge heteronormative conceptions of family?
Feel free to pitch any other family-related topics you think we should cover!
We’re looking for personal essays, features, photo essays, poetry, profiles, teacher appreciation letters and more. Email your pitch to editor-in-chief, Erin, erin@thedancecurrent.com by July 30 to be considered.
