Jacob Kleinman, Executive Editor at Inverse, is looking for pitches:
Dear freelance journalists: I have freelance money. You have story ideas. Send me your pitches for features about TV, Movies, Video Games, Science, or Technology to jacob@inverse.com. I love to pay $1000 for a great story.
I am looking for deeply reported features (NOT essays, reviews, previews or hot takes). I like a good story with interesting characters, lots of conflict, and ideally a news peg. Here's a few recent examples:
- Before the MCU, Ghostface Killah Made Iron Man Cool: https://inverse.com/entertainment/ghostface-killah-iron-man-tony-starks
- Four Days Inside the Infinite Church of Star Wars: https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/star-wars-celebration-2023
A few exceptions to the above:
- You have guaranteed access to an exciting interview with someone who will make news in an area Inverse cares about
- You're a strong writer with great clips who wants to write a recurring column for Inverse
If either of these are you, let's talk.
If you think you should have a column on Inverse, please include these 2 things in your email: 1. A clear pitch for your column and why you are the person to write it 2. Clips that prove the above and also demonstrate you've written consistently over time for a single publication
