Remote UX Writer wanted | $50 to $70 per hour (freelance)

Mindtickle is looking for a dedicated freelance UX writer to collaborate on a unique special project. This short-term engagement will last 6-8 weeks, with possibilities for future work, and focuses mostly on cleaning up existing strings of UX copy using a tool created by Mindtickle’s internal engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Content clean-up: Use your UX writing expertise to go through and edit the strings of copy flagged by the editing tool to have grammar, style, punctuation or other copy issues. The tool will search copy in the product, including user interface elements, tooltips, error messages and other relevant UX/UI copy.
• Template edits: Edit the existing email templates that are on our platform, to be used by admins and sent to end users.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the UX writing and engineering teams, particularly the those who built the editing tool, to understand the tool's capabilities, functionalities and limitations. Collaborate effectively to ensure seamless integration of clean copy.
• Style guide compliance: Follow the existing style guide. Ensure consistency and adherence to our product’s user experience.
• User-centric approach: Keep the end-users in mind while writing UX copy, ensuring that the language is clear, intuitive and enhances the overall user experience.
• Editing and refinement: Utilize your strong editing skills to review and refine copy as needed, making sure it aligns with the product tone and is user-friendly. Strong handle specifically on American English.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience: 1+ years of proven experience in UX writing and working on special projects with a focus on specific tools or platforms, and a portfolio showing that work.
• Collaboration skills: Ability to work closely and effectively with developers and other team members to achieve project goals.
• Style guide proficiency: Familiarity working with style guides so that you can adopt the writing style and implement it in the editing process.
• Editing skills: Strong editing and proofreading abilities to deliver high-quality content that meets the project's requirements.
• Self-motivated: As a freelancer, you should be a self-starter who can work independently and take ownership of the project's content deliverables. Ability to start quickly and, after intro training, delivery fast results.

$50 - $70 an hour

Final rate will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge and skills.
