PHOTOGENIE CALL FOR PITCHES

ISSUE 19: Cinema, a mobile medium?

Film is inherently kinetic. By nature, moving images have the power to transcend mere depiction and embody sensory responses to motion. Be it by mirroring the ebbs and flows of the elemental, or creating their oval expressionistic rhythmic patterns, cinema has been the definitive medium to showcase action. Action as confrontation, action as mobilization, action as a reverie.

We encourage writers to discuss the possibilities of movement in film whichever way they see fit, from its political course to its fantastical stream, everywhere in between.

Fee. €225

The deadline for pitches is September 4, with a selection date of September 8 and a mid-October publication. Both written pieces and mixed format and/or audiovisual essays will he considered. Pitches and any and all inquiries can be addressed to editorialboard@genie.be
