Pitches wanted (Alabama, New England) | ~$285 per article
Added 2023-08-18 17:21:42 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: JRNY TRAVEL MAGAZINE
Deadline: 25 August 2023
PITCH CALL! We’re looking to commission two US stories for Issue Seven of JRNY Travel Magazine and would welcome pitches on the following destinations only: Alabama and New England. Please read full before pitching.
We are open to any angles for these regions, with the exception of road trips and food/drink. Ideally you will have travelled to the destination(s) within the last few months or live there.
Please send pitches of no more than 250 words to Emma at submissions@jrnymag.com with the word “PITCH:” and the relevant state(s) in the subject line by Friday 25 August. Please do not pitch any states other than Alabama or those in New England.
(Note that for New England, pitches can cover one or multiple/all states in the region.)
Fee: £225 for Alabama (1,500 words); £300 for New England (2,000 words). Deadline: October.
This is open to everyone, but I’m always particularly keen to hear from writers from under-represented backgrounds.
Finally, and I say this every time but it always needs repeating, I’m really sorry but I can’t reply to every pitch. I only work part time for JRNY and have limited capacity to respond. However, we do read all pitches and regularly commission people who we couldn’t previously.
