Carolyn Copeland, News Editor at Prism, is looking for writers/pitches:

We're looking for some Hawaii-based (preferably Maui-based, but other islands are fine) freelance writers who are willing to take on some reported news pieces about the Lahaina fire. We pay $0.50/word.

We're also accepting pitches.

We're looking to commission and uplift Hawaiian voices. Our inbox is open and we can't wait to hear from you. Send us your bio/website/clips to carolyn@prismreports.org

Ideally, we would love to work with an indigenous Hawaiian journalist, since non-natives and non-residents have thus far dominated the coverage, but we are open to Hawaii residents if they have the right experience to report from the ground.
