It's true. I'm the new Nosh editor, leading food coverage for Oaklandside and Berkeleyside. Now, after years freelancing, I get to be the one putting out a call for pitches! Simply, I'm looking for food stories in the East Bay. But wait there's more.

We love people-focused stories that help readers get to know the community better.

Restaurant openings are wonderful, but you can stand out by pitching interesting under-the-radar stories.

Think of "food coverage" broadly and creatively.

I'd love to see pitches on people growing or producing food in unexpected ways and places, tackling food insecurity and justice issues, and fighting for better labor conditions.

We do profiles, trend stories, investigations, guides, and a range of other pieces.
