Joshi Hermann, Founder of The Mill, is looking for pitches:

Manchester journalists: We need a few great stories to fill out our schedule in September and early October—scoopy pieces, long reads, cultural stuff. Please pitch me in the next few days.

We're always aiming for incredible diversity and eclecticism in what we publish and we can't achieve that purely with staff writers and our own ideas.

A typical fee for our commissions is £150, but we’ve paid a wide range of fees depending on the work that goes into the story and the experience of the writer (more experienced writers tend to require less editing time on our stories).
