Matt Broomfield is looking for pitches for New Internationalist
Please send all pitches to to bethany.rielly@newint.org and you can cc me matthew.broomfield1@gmail.com
Thanks for sending such strong submissions to the November-December issue. We’re now looking for pitches for the January-February issue of New Internationalist. Please send your pitches to me by 9am BST on Tuesday 24 October. Please do bear in mind when pitching that your piece would not be seen by our readers until mid December/early January and needs to stay relevant until the end of February 2024. For anyone who's new to this call-out list, Currents is our upfront short news section, made up of short dispatches—the longest is 500 words. We like under-reported stories, set often (but not exclusively) in the Global South, that look at upcoming elections, workers’ struggles, new technology, human-interest stories, social movements, activist campaigns, arts & culture, conflicts etc. If you are commissioned, you will generally have around a week to submit the piece. We generally pay 27p/word.
