Deadline: 1 January 2024
Emily Logan, Founder of Space on Space, is looking for pitches:
Issue 4-Carry: Call for Stories/Essays
What are we carrying? How can we lighten our loads? Why are we so armed and guarded? Can we put down our weapons and carry each other instead? What makes a space safe for a community to thrive? What makes a body feel safe? Who will carry our future?
We are looking at these questions historically and from an international perspective. We are looking for art that is dreaming of a society where people have the autonomy to choose what is right for their bodies.
SUBMISSION PROMPTS:
- Call for Stories: on fertility challenges, egg freezing, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum experiences etc.
- Call for Stories: tell us your abortion stories (anonymously if you want)
- Call for Essays: What makes a space safe for a community to thrive?
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Story pitches should be 250 words or less. In January, our team will review pitches and select a handful to be written. We pay $300 for 1000 words.
Email emily@spaceonspace.com with any questions.
