Calling all Black women writers: We're always accepting new pitches here at Carefree Mag. We are looking for personal essays with strong narratives and voice on life, love, adventure and everything in-between.

FEBRUARY: "HOW TO LOVE"

We want to hear your stories of the ways you learned how to love, whether through your pet, your BFF, favorite artist, or lover. Some ideas:

We're tired of hearing Black women aren't worthy of love. We want to hear your stories of the ways you learned how to love, whether through your pet, your BFF, your favorite artist, or lover:

• Learning what real love is
• How you met your partner
• Falling in love with yourself
• The ways you romanticize your life
• Odes to your favorite things/people/places

CAREFREE POV

We're looking for stories with strong voice, humor and narrative. Please take a look at this link for the type of stories we publish.

We're big on slow, indulgent storytelling; we publish only one story a week, and they're typically 1000-1800 words long. We pay a flat rate of $100 per story.

We only accept pitches from Black womxn authors.
