Remote Proposal Writer wanted | $50 to $80 per hour

Fedsprout is a nationwide consulting firm providing clients with strategic guidance and proposal writing expertise for federal and state funding opportunities.

This role is a contract position, and work will be 100% remote. Work timings are flexible, but you may need to work on weeknights and weekends as proposal submission dates come close.

We are seeking a skilled scientist or engineer to join our rapidly growing company. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Program Manager to assist small business clients in pursuing funding support. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing various technical tasks in conceptualizing and preparing grant proposals to branches of the Department of Defense, and possibly more such as the NSF. The role demands a high standard of written scientific documentation for funding applications and publications, including grant proposal writing, editing, and proofreading. Additionally, you will provide support to clients by engaging with the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC). Experience in research and development is a must especially for military applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the Program Manager to assess alignment between granting agencies' research needs and the client's proposed technology.
• Conduct literature and product searches to evaluate novel advancements relevant to the client's proposed technology.
• Develop high-quality, clear, and compelling written grant applications that convey highly technical content in terms understandable to diverse scientific reviewers.
• Assist client with understanding the application process and developing various proposal sections such as the budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferred: PhD or Masters Degree in engineering or science.
• Minimum of 10 year of scientific writing experience, preferably in military applications.
• Demonstrated experience in grant writing, including DOD SBIR proposals or familiarity with other funding mechanisms.
