Hit me up with queer travel stories and essays/reporting on specific identities—also points and miles and (après) ski in particular. I'd love stories re: destinations with surprising/unexpected queer communities thriving.
I ask specifically because I'd like to expand the scope of "queer travel writing," to have it go beyond "my husband and I went to Puerto Vallarta" or "my wife and I went on a cruise"—fab stories, to be sure. But what else? How are local queers making spaces for themselves and guests?
Or: how did traveling to a place reflect back to you a clearer/murkier vision of yourself? (essays) or: who are the queers blazing trails in the travel and hospitality space? (interviews) or: what travel/food/design trends are getting queered and how? (queer wine in Portland)
For what it's worth, for all my queer travel ranting above, I'm especially keen on stories from South America, Africa, and Asia right now. I'm trying to see something...
