Calling all Black women writers: We're always accepting new pitches here at Carefree Mag. We are looking for personal essays with strong narratives and voice on life, love, adventure and everything in-between.

March: "Blooming Unconventionally"

The flowers are blooming and so are you-in unexpected ways. It’s women’s empowerment month and we want to read your unconventional stories on facing fears, and glowing up:

• Being a "late bloomer"
• Challenging yourself to do things that scare you
• Moving back home with your parents after age 30
• Moving from a big city to a smaller one
• Moving to a new country
• Pulling yourself out of a rut

We're big on slow, indulgent storytelling; we publish only one story a week, and they're typically 1000-1800 words long. We pay a flat rate of $100 per story.

We only accept pitches from Black womxn authors.
