Deadline: 15 February 2024
Chris Azzopardi, Editorial Director of Pride Source, is looking for pitches:
I'm still working through the flood of emails I got from queer writers—to all who reached out, thank you! I've assigned several new writers stories in the last few weeks (see them below) and am still working through emails/pitches. Don't hesitate to follow up.
- Loved Jordyn Bradley's sweet-as-cake column on how cooking has become her and her partner's shared love language—even miles away: https://pridesource.com/article/creating-food-together-is-a-love-language-in-my-queer-relationship-no-matter-the-distance
- Tom Disalvo's essay on "doppelbanging" is full of expert insight and sharp, hilarious writing: https://pridesource.com/article/the-best-gay-sex-ive-ever-had-is-with-people-who-look-like-me
- Sofía Aguilar wrote beautifully about how Valentine's Day is isolating for a lot of queer people—and how we can change that. Some great advice in this one: https://pridesource.com/article/reclaiming-valentines-day-as-a-queer-person
I am on the hunt for some standout stories for our upcoming Home Issue. Last year's slate blew me away—from plant daddies to a story on William Dorsey Swann and an essay on self-discovery on the road. Pitch deadline: February 15.
And please give our pitch guide a look before submitting. There's some important info in here (rates, what exactly we're looking for, why it helps for the story to have a Michigan connection, etc.)
