Alula Hunsen, Editorial Manager at Boston Ujima Project, is looking for pitches:
The Ujima WIRE is a Boston-based, monthly, digital publication that runs on our newsletter and Medium. We publish new pieces from January through September.
We are currently accepting pitches for written pieces. While our primary scopes are cultural, economic and political criticism we also welcome reported journalism, poetry, short fiction and experimental compositions.
We welcome first-time writers, mid-career folks, and experienced professionals, with a preference for new writers, writers from marginalized backgrounds, and those who don't have a traditional publishing experience.
Use this form to submit your pitch and/or sign up for assignments. Articles featured in the WIRE receive compensation ranging from $200 to $300; other works are compensated at $0.30 a word.
If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us at comms@ujimaboston.com.
We're taking rolling submissions over the course of the year, so no hard deadline for pitches.
