Calling all Black women writers: We're always accepting new pitches here at Carefree Mag. We are looking for personal essays with strong narratives and voice on life, love, adventure and everything in-between.

April: "Letting Go"

Spring is a time for shedding the old and allowing new forms of yourself to come forward. We want to hear about things you’re letting go. Some ideas:

• quitting or leaving an idea/place/person
• cutting off toxic friends/family
• going cold turkey

We're looking for stories with strong voice, humor and narrative. Please take a look at this link for the type of stories we publish.

We're big on slow, indulgent storytelling; we publish only one story a week, and they're typically 1000-1800 words long. We pay a flat rate of $100 per story.

We only accept pitches from Black womxn authors.
